What types of clients is aACE best suited for?
aACE is engineered to accommodate 90% of any business’ day-to-day operations. Customization is typically required for the specialized workflows all companies have. aACE includes modules for service-based organizations requiring sophisticated time and expense management, manufacturers with bill of materials and bundled item (kitting) requirements, and product-based companies including mail-order and drop-ship businesses.
How does aACE handle multiple department or organizational structures within a single installation?
The aACE “Offices” module provides the infrastructure for a variety of different configurations. An Office record could represent physical locations for separate offices,
different departments within an organization, or even entirely different companies.
Each transaction record in the system (i.e. Sales Leads, Quotes, Projects, Orders, Estimates, Invoices, Receipts, Purchases, and Disbursements) is assigned to an office. This allows data
to be completely segregated by office. The accounting and inventory engines can even produce office-specific financial reports.
Does aACE integrate with e-commerce solutions?
Every e-commerce solution is different and is typically integrated with a client's website, so integration with aACE always requires some degree of customization. aACE features an Orders Importer that will download data from the e-commerce solution, process it, and import it into aACE. Web orders can then be managed using the fully-featured Order Management portion of the system. aACE can also send product lists and inventory balances to an e-commerce solution depending on what the e-commerce solution will accept and/or requires.
Can I process credit card transactions from aACE?
Credit card processing can be handled within aACE within the Receipts module. For this feature, a merchant account with either X-Charge or Authorize.net is required.
What security measures does aACE include for handling credit cards?
Our preferred method for processing credit card payments is X-Charge because of their enhanced security options. Using X-Charge, credit card data is only temporarily stored within aACE. Once a card is charged, the data is cleared from your local servers and is instead stored on X-Charge’s highly secure servers. If further credit card processing is required, such as for automated billing, aACE stores only an alias of the credit card, which is completely useless on its own. If using Authorize.net, and even during the temporary storage of credit card information if using X-Charge, all sensitive credit card information is encrypted and inaccessible to users with the exception of the masked credit card number, credit card type, and other non-sensitive information.
Can I access aACE via the web?
AGIS offers a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) licensing model for clients who prefer a web-based solution. Please contact agis for more details.
What files are accessible to me as a developer?
aACE is built on an architecture that features separate data, processing, and interface files. The data and interface files are completely open for customization. The processing files, or Scripts Library, features limited access. Many of the processes in the Scripts Library should not be customized because they are vital to proper functioning of the system. These include accounting and inventory management scripts, for example.
How will I know how to customize aACE without breaking it?
AGIS is currently working on The aACE Developer’s Guide, which will have in-depth instructions for developing in aACE. If you ever have any questions, AGIS aACE programmers are available to assist via the developers forum.
What areas does aACE not handle for a business?
aACE does not handle payroll. aACE does not feature cash register integration for retail operations. aACE does not include a built-in e-commerce solution. aACE can be integrated with other best-of-breed solutions for these activities.
